It’s time to giddyup and go to the D&K Ranch! Pick your secluded cabin, Like our Max’s Tree House (nestled in rows of pine trees) and get ready for one of the most memorable vacation experiences ever. Guests will enjoy the private sitting area at the cabin which overlooks part of the horse paddock and pond. Max’s Tree House is a short walk to the Crooked Hat kitchen area too! Cabin time at the D&K Ranch includes riding in a 16,000 acre National Forest - the Finger Lakes National Forest.
The Crooked Hat gathering area is where our guests can mingle and meet others and enjoy the camp fire pit.

It doesn’t mater which direction you ride, the D&K Ranch is in the middle of the Finger Lakes National Forest. We also provide trail rides on our scenic property in Lodi, New York.
Since you book directly with us at our family owned ranch, we can answer any questions your have. We match you with a horse that you feel comfortable with so that you enjoy the experience as much as the horse. Rent one or both of our Max’s Tree House Cabins. Need more room for a larger group? We have other cabins at the ranch! There are lots of wonderful Wranglers at the ranch ready to help you live like a local. Ask any of them about the unique Amish markets, Organic restaurants, Cider houses, Ithaca Science Center, Waterfall tours, Two Goats Brewing for great beer and great people, Geo Caching!
This is a Horse Riding Vacation! Round up your entire clan, or just make it a romantic time for 2 in southern Seneca County! Choose either a daily trail ride or riding lessons. Ride through cattle pastures, venture down a wooded hill, wind through a fresh water stream that horses may sip from. Enjoy Outdoor games and the Outdoor kitchen - find places to unwind, read, relax, and enjoy nature at the Ranch.
Things to remember: Boot, hats, jeans. This is not the place for scarves or dresses:)
Nearby are some other “trails” that might strike your fancy: Sample award-winning Finger Lakes wines along the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and Cayuga Lake Wine Trail. Plus the Finger Lakes Cheese Trail. Looking for some on water fun? Go from horseback to horsepower - rent a boat and explore the two largest freshwater Finger Lakes, Seneca Lake and Cayuga Lake. The entire scenic Finger Lakes Outdoors is home to many recreational activities; hiking in the Finger Lakes National Forest, biking along one of eleven Finger Lakes, kayaking on the Erie Canal System, and some amazing golf courses.

We understand things come up but the deposit will be charged if there is a no call no show. Riders must weigh under 220lbs. Make an apt to have a massage after a day of riding with our Massage therapist.

Jessica Schnell. Most interesting "obstacle" course trail ride ever. It was part training for the horses, part sampling of the types of tasks ranchers have to do. Kelly was so nice and generous, because we were early, we got to interact with the horses beforehand to choose our favorite horse to ride. And then we practiced riding in the paddock to see their responsiveness to signals. Best time ever, highly recommend. Easy to book online, but email Kelly any special requests!

Scott Brayall. ABSOLUTELY GREAT PLACE!!! As other reviews have stated, Kelly and everyone at the ranch were absolutely great! As soon as we got there, we felt right at home. Kelly was the friendliest person I have ever met. She paired us up with horses that were perfect for both myself and my girlfriend. We will most certainly be returning. The trail ride was amazing! We just went out, talked the whole way, learned about the area. Was as if we had known Kelly for YEARS!

We have a horseback riding vacation designed just for you! We have 10 horses available to riders because we like to keep our groups small so we are able to work with the comfort of the rider. Our goal in creating D & K Ranch is to not only enjoy our favorite pastime, but also to build and share the connection that people can have with horses. We enjoy getting to know our guests.
Each horse has a story about their life they show through their behavior, and as people learn it they respond and learn about themselves too. D & K stands for us, Dave & Kelly. Saddle up!
