Looking for a New York Lake Ontario cabin and a Great Lakes experience? You’ll have the southern shore of Lake Ontario to explore from your cottage at Anchor Resort. Cottage 4 is located in the Village of Fair Haven at the end of Little Sodus Bay with a short walk across a grassy lawn to the shoreline and resort beach area. The cozy upstate New York lakefront cottage has 2 bedrooms, a newly remodeled bathroom, and a kitchenette equipped with all the basics. Note linens are not provided, but the resort does have a coin-operated laundry for guests.
Just 55 minutes northwest of Syracuse, NY, the Finger Lakes cottage is located in a private setting with an outdoor picnic table and fire pit. Sit back at night in front of the fire and watch the majestic, star-filled sky. Escape from the “big-city-life” and let the quiet and beauty of these peaceful surroundings recharge you. There is a TV, A/C unit and free Wi-Fi. The family-friendly resort has a marina and rents boats, paddleboats, rowboats, and stand-up paddleboards. Family gathering areas on-site include the children’s playground, a basketball court, and grills located throughout the property.
Sleeping Arrangements: Bedroom 1 - two twin beds; Bedroom 2 - two twin beds.
The resort amenities include a sandy beach, outdoor picnic areas with grills, a basketball court, a playground, and a marina where you can rent motor boats, row boats, stand up paddle boards, and regular paddle boats. You’ll have plenty of outdoor recreational options within steps of the cottage.
Anglers will love getting out on the lake for pan fishing in the bay. The resort has a fish cleaning station and you can store your extra catch in their freezer space until you are ready to eat it.
Take a short drive to The Sterling Nature Center with over 1400 acres and 2 miles of shore along Lake Ontario. There are 5 miles of beautiful hiking trails, a gift shop, observation decks, and seasonal public programs. If you bring your own canoe you can launch it and paddle Sterling Creek. The 1.6-mile Meadow Loop Trail travels through wetland habit with birds, butterflies and dragonflies.
Families with children will certainly decide visiting the Fly-By-Night Cookie Company and Miniature Museum in Fair Haven is an absolute must. The Company specializes in homemade cookies, pies, and cookies - 65 choices everyday!! You can even make reservations for a European-style high tea. The miniature Museum features an enchanted realm sure to delight everyone.
