The restful deck includes patio furniture with an umbrella, or use the deck roll-up awning when you need shade from the sun. What a perfect place to sit and read your favorite book while you feel those fresh lake breezes surround you. Only a short walk across the grassy lawn is the resort’s marina, pier, and swimming beach.
The full-sized kitchen includes a stove, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, cooking utensils, dishes and silverware. The eat-in dining room table seats 6. Note: Be sure and pack your own linens. The resort has a coin-operated guest laundry.

Anchor Resort amenities include a sandy swimming beach, playground, basketball court, pier, and marina. Guests also can use the shared picnic areas, grills, and fire rings throughout the resort for larger group activities. At the marina you can rent pontoon boats, motorboats, pedal boats, rowboats, kayaks, canoes, and stand-up paddleboards. You’ll have plenty of options within steps of your Lake Ontario cottage for exploring the bay and beyond.
Several local charter services are available if you want to plan a Lake Ontario Great Lakes experience and catch your next trophy Brown Trout, Steelhead, Lake Trout, Coho/Chinook, or Small Mouth Bass. Back at the resort it’s easy to prepare your catch of the day at the fish cleaning station and pack it away in the resort freezer for later use. Then relax for an evening around the fire pit in your Finger Lakes retreat.
Just a short drive from your upstate New York cottage is the Fair Haven Beach State Park which describes itself as, “one of the finest public lakefronts in upstate New York.” The park features 1500 feet of sandy beach with 600 feet of swim area. Over 3 miles of hiking trails take you along the towering bluffs, rolling woodlands, and lakeshore. Seasonal waterfowl hunting is permitted in designated areas.
Visit the Sterling Cidery in Sterling and learn how they hand-make their delicious hard cider with hand-pressed juice from locally grown apples. Their small batch processed ciders are aged with oak or hops, and some are flavored with local black currents. Served on draught.
